ConnectHer Classroom Program – Kids Can Make a Difference

My good friend and founder of ConnectHer, Lila Igram has created a classroom program so that teachers can choose projects that mean the most to them, organize and raise funds, and see a tangible reward for their efforts.

ConnectHer offers small groups and organizations the opportunity to raise funds quickly for small but extremely beneficial projects all over the globe.  Everything from education to agriculture to micro-enterprises– for women and children in Africa, Asia, the middle east and even in the U.S.

Please consider making ConnectHer a part of your students’ education…

Who: Connecther seeks to end global poverty by partnering with donors, non-profits and other stakeholders that focus on aiding women and children in their quest for self reliance.

What: New program for classrooms to sponsor a project. With $10 (more or less is fine too) donations from students, parents, teachers, relatives, friends, church groups, etc., we can chisel away at funding needs for important projects for women and children in their quest for self-reliance around the world.  This is a great history, geography, current events and philanthropy tool for the classroom and it makes the giving more fun when it’s collective giving.

Where: Connecther projects range from helping refugees settle into Austin, TX to providing scholarships for girls in Senegal and South Africa.  We also support an Orphan Project in Indonesia and a Midwife training center in Somaliland as well as SO many more projects that advance women and children in developing communities.

When: Now!  All you have to do is register on Connecther.org (takes less than a minute) and start a group for your classroom.  Once you are active on the site, your classroom can choose one project (or multiple projects) to support.  It’s simple to track your classrooms donations – when someone gives to a project, in the checkout area there is a drop down that will show all groups that you have created and/or joined.  You just affiliate your donation with your group and all donations affiliated with your group will show on your group page!  For an example of a group, visit this page.

Example: We have just recently launched Connecther’s group functionality, however, to see an example of how it works, please visit the group page here!
